This is the main issue that forced this recall election. We need the light rail to cover the entire metro valley area. We need 2 lanes on each side of the rail line and the rail line needs 2 lains. This does require massive construction but when the city has an effective light rail it will reduce traffic on the roads. In addition it will take some of the load off the bus system allowing for better service and smaller wait times for the public.

Phoenix has privatized the mass transit system. This is extremely inefficient as a private company has to make a profit and the government operates at cost. When the government does its job the bus drivers and train operators keep their jobs with better pay and benefits, the government saves millions of dollars and the people get fast and efficient public transportation.

What is so ironic about the Phoenix mass transit system, paid for by tax dollars, going to a British company. Our tax dollars are going to pay for another vacation home for a few rich British guys. Didn’t we have a tea party in Boston about that very same issue?
